AEA Extended Solutions

The Advanced Extension Award (AEA) in Mathematics is more challenging than an A-level in Mathematics or Further Mathematics, and as such can provide a good stepping stone to university-level mathematics or statistics courses.

To provide support to students thinking about taking an AEA in Mathematics, this page contains extended solutions for some past exams, the question papers for which can be downloaded from the Edexcel website. These solutions are intended to supplement the original mark schemes, which are also available on the Edexcel website.

Before consulting either the solutions or the mark schemes, however, we recommend that you attempt the questions yourself, as the main challenge is often working out what to do, and it is good to practise this!
