New Developments in MCMC (Diffusions, Images and Other Challenges)

August, 22-24, 2006

With the increasing availability of highly complex data, efficient inference algorithms that can handle this complexity are needed. In this workshop we are planning to explore new areas in MCMC that handle complex data, in particular on the biology/imaging interface. While we envisage a number of talks on applications the focus will be on methodology such as MCMC for diffusions or images..

The workshop will be organized into five keynote presentations and 12-15 related presentations. We also plan to have a poster session.

Confirmed keynote speakers:

  • Samuel Kou (Department of Statistics, Harvard University)
  • Eric Moulines (ENST Paris)
  • Christope Andrieu (Department of Mathematics, University of Bristol)
  • Gareth Roberts (Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Lancaster University)
  • Harvard Rue (Department of Mathematical Sciences, Norwegian University of Science and Technology)

Further confirmed external participants:

  • Chris Holmes (Oxford Centre for Gene Function)
  • Peter Green (Department of Mathematics, University of Bristol)
  • Mark Huber (Department of Mathematics and Institute of Statistics and Decision Theory, Duke University)
