Bayesian Inference in Complex Stochastic Systems

May 28-30, 2006

The workshop will be organised into five keynote presentations and fifteen related (themed) presentations. We also plan to have a poster session.

Confirmed speakers are:
Jim Berger (ISDS, Duke University)
Alan Gelfand (ISDS, Duke University)
Ed George (The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania)
Peter Muller (MD Anderson Cancer Centre, University of Texas)
Jon Wakefield (Department of Biostatistics, University of Washington)

These keynote addresses will be open to academics that do not participate in the entire workshop. The timing of the meeting was deliberately chosen to allow participants a convenient transition to the Valencia meeting. Besides academic matters, we will also have an afternoon off with a planned excursion and many opportunities will arise for more relaxed discussions.

We also aim to provide some funding for PhD students and young researchers, who will have an excellent opportunity to interact with the invited participants. We expect that many young statisticians will benefit from the meeting.

The meeting organisers are:
Mark Steel (M.F.Steel@stats.warwick.ac.uk),
Jim Griffin (J.E.Griffin@warwick.ac.uk) and
Jim Smith (J.Q.Smith@warwick.ac.uk).

Send an email to J.E.Griffin@warwick.ac.uk if you would like to join the workshop mailing list.

We are confident we will have a great meeting to get us all in the mood for Valencia!
