WOGAS2 - Workshop on Geometric and Algebraic Statistics 2 - Apr 6-7 2010

[c]

New Announcement!

This workshop will highlight recent developments and research opportunities in topics related to algebraic and geometric statistics. It will be hosted by the Centre for Research in Statistical Methodology (CRiSM) at the University of Warwick. As with its predecessor (see http://statistics.open.ac.uk/WOGAS%202009/workshop_on_geometric_and_algebra.htm), the overall aim is to bring together people interested in either or both of Geometric and Algebraic Statistics to share enthusiasms and, potentially, develop synergies. Many promising applications of different types of geometry to statistics – differential, algebraic, convex, affine, … – being emergent, rather than fully formed, the idea is to have a relatively informal event with plenty of opportunity for interaction, ending with a roundtable discussion.

The workshop will host invited speakers, invited posters and will be open to contributed posters, providing access for career-young researchers (PhD students, post-docs and young academics) to many of the leading figures within the field.
