P@W Young Researchers Workshop, July 20-24, 2009

The Warwick Department of Statistics is pleased to announce the third Probability at Warwick workshop, which follows two highly successful previous events in the series.

The workshop has the principal aim of bringing together young researchers working in probability, and will feature two lectured courses by invited speakers: Prof. David Aldous (University of California, Berkeley) and Prof. Tom Kurtz (University of Wisconsin, Madison). These courses will be accessible to graduate mathematicians and probabilists.

The exact schedule of the workshop is to be confirmed, but there will be a chance for participants either to give an informal introduction to an area of interest, or to present a more detailed account of their research (subject to timetabling constraints). Perhaps most importantly, though, the event will provide an invaluable opportunity for meeting and socialising with young probabilists from all over the UK and beyond.

The organisers would like to thank the Institute of Advanced Study at Warwick University, the London Mathematical Society and also the Warwick Department of Statistics for their generous support.
