The Warwick MSc in Financial Mathematics is the longest running programme of its kind in the UK, equipping successful candidates with a leading qualification and preparing you for a specialist quantitative role in the finance industry.
Our programme is unique in being taught across three academic departments, enabling you to gain the best training in high level probability and statistics, numerical methods and programming and up-to-date knowledge of finance theory and practice:
The MSc in Financial Mathematics builds on your mathematical background to equip you with knowledge of probability and stochastic processes, statistics, numerical methods, derivatives and asset pricing to give you the tools to study more advanced topics such as interest rate models and credit risk, model calibration, financial time series, risk management and pde's. You will learn to programme in Matlab, R and undertake a module in C++ with financial applications. The programme culminates in a research project/dissertation which allows you to study a subject of interest to you in greater detail.

Mathematics and Statistics at Warwick has ranked third in the UK among Mathematical Sciences groups in the REF2014. We have more than 90% of our research activity rated as either internationally excellent or world leading (the highest REF 2014 grades, 3* and 4*).
The Stochastic Finance@Warwick research group is a world class centre for activity in mathematical finance within the Statistics department. Research focuses on the use of stochastic processes and probabilistic modelling in mathematical finance, and encompasses fundamental research on the properties of no-arbitrage, stochastic volatility, interest rate modelling, American options and optimal stopping problems, behavioural finance, agent interactions, robust and model free hedging, along with many other topics.
Our MSc Financial Mathematics modules in probability and stochastic processes, continuous time finance for interest rates and financial time series analysis are taught by faculty from the Stochastic Finance@Warwick research group.
How do I apply?
Application is via the university's online system. Your application will be considered by WBS. All candidates must satisfy the Board of Graduate Studies' requirements for entry. Candidates should normally have obtained an very good honours degree from an approved institution in Mathematics or Statistics or a discipline with a substantial mathematics component. Fees and Funding
The fee for 2017 entry to the MSc in Financial Mathematics is £33,500 for all students. This is payable at the start of the year but to secure your place on the course you must lodge a £1,000 deposit within six weeks of receiving your offer. See the WBS Fees and funding page for more information. WBS awarded over £500 000 of scholarships across its Masters courses in 2016. Warwick students who are offered a place receive a Warwick Loyalty discount.
