I am a third year PhD student working with Prof Gareth Roberts in the Department of Statistics at the University of Warwick

My research is using Bayesian methods to make inference about hetrogeneity in epidemics.

A new approach is the Indian Buffet Epidemic, which has been developed and is being investigated further, this was first presented at Oberwolfach 2009 and was again presented at the RSC 2010 and at InFER, a paper is in preparation, a poster was presented at Valencia 2010.

An approach to analysing epidemic processes on graphs was presented at Statworks in Bristol.

I helped with the organisation of two conferences at Warwick in 2011

I obtained an MSc in statistics from Manchester in 1977 with a thesis on stochastic point processes.

Since then I was employed in government research and most recently at QinetiQ , where I worked with Andrew Webb on a wide range of pattern recognition problems.

A recent example was the analysis of data related to the accident to Boeing 777-236, G-YMMM at London Heathrow Airport on 17 January 2008 which formed part of the Initial Report into the accident.
