Research

I have just completed my PhD working under the supervision of Prof. Jim SmithLink opens in a new window. My research interests lie in the field of algebraic statistics and centre around probability trees, staged trees, chain event graphs and causality.

In April 2017 I will start a nine-week Leibniz Fellowship at the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut OberwolfachLink opens in a new window and from May 2017 I will be a postdoctoral researcher in Bernd SturmfelsLink opens in a new window' Non-Linear Algebra group at the Max Planck Institut für Mathematik in den NaturwissenschaftenLink opens in a new window in Leipzig, Germany.

I hold a degree in mathematics from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany. My Diplomarbeit 'Methods of Semi-Algebraic Geometry in Gaussian Statistical Models' was supervised by Prof. Frank Herrlich and Prof. Norbert Henze.
