    Personal Information

    Name: Peter Krusche
Current occupation: Research Fellow in Systems Biology at the University of Warwick
Language competency: German (native), English (fluent), Latin (reading), French (beginner)

    Education

    Secondary Education:

1992 - 1999: Johannes-Kepler-Gymnasium Chemnitz (specialization in sciences and comprehensive mathematical classes)
    High School Graduation Certificate (Abitur)

    Further Education:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, University of Warwick, 2010.

Topic: Parallel String Alignments: Algorithms and Applications

This thesis shows new algorithms for computing string alignments on modern parallel computer systems. The theoretical part includes a detailed analysis of new parallel algorithms for string comparison. The practical part of this thesis consists of an implementation of a new tool for loss-free local string comparison.

Dipl. Inf. (M.Sc. in Computer Science), Technische Universität Chemnitz, 2006

Topic: Simulationsbasierte Experimentplanung bei Parallelen Reaktorsystemen
(Simulation-based experiment planning for parallel reactor systems)

This thesis investigates the application of different scheduling algorithms to planning experiments on parallel reactor systems in experimental chemistry.

M.Sc. by Research, Computer Science, University of Warwick, 2005

Topic: Experimental Evaluation of BSP Algorithms

The main contribution of this thesis is a thorough study of the practicability and predictability of bulk-synchronous parallel algorithms for matrix multiplication and for string comparison.
