Call for papers-Minisymposium on uncertainty modelling in porous media

We would like to invite you to submit a contribution for our Minisymposium on “Uncertainty Quantification and Multiple Scale Methods for Porous Media” to be held during the 9th International Conference on Porous Media & Annual Meeting organized by TU Delft in Rotterdam, Netherlands for May 8-11, 2017. Details of the conference can be found in the conference website: https://www.interpore.org/events/interpore-conference-programs/9th-international- conference-on-porous-media-annual-meeting.

Topics relevant to the Minisymposium include, but are not limited to, experimental investigations and analytical/numerical developments for:

  • inverse problems

  • simulation of random microstructure/morphology

  • random field modeling of heterogeneous porous media

  • visualization of uncertainty in high-dimensional spaces

  • theoretical system identification for porous systems with uncertainty

  • stochastic finite element analysis of multiphysical behavior of porous media

The deadline for submission of abstracts is November 14, 2016.

The session is intended to be a small-scale, but high-quality and single-track event focussing on the promotion, dissemination and exchange of knowledge and ideas through discussions. We would appreciate it if you confirm with us at your earliest convenience your willingness to contribute to this mini-symposium. Please be reminded to submit the abstract by the deadline of November 14, 2016 to the conference website and also notify us by sending a copy of the abstract to either one of the session organizers.

The papers presented at the session will be invited to submit in an extended version of the contribution for consideration of publication in a special issue of the journal of Transport in Porous Media.

We hope that you will be able to participate in this session and look forward to hearing from you.
