RESEARCH PROFILE

Helen works in the Plant Mineral Nutrition Group

BACKGROUND

Helen Bowen (nee Moore) graduated from Southampton University in 1994 with a B.Sc. in Biology and came to work at Wellesbourne with Bill Bond, examining the effect of various weeding treatments on the weed seedbank in organic and conventional farming systems. Then in 1995 she joined Philip White, to assist in studies on the regulation of membrane ion transport in plant nutrition and intracellular signalling. Helen has expertise in laboratory, glasshouse and field based research. Her laboratory skills include plant physiology, molecular biology and mineral analysis. In 2006 Helen became a research assistant to John Hammond, continuing in studies in plant mineral nutrition.
