International Conference on Manufacturing Research

We are pleased to announce that Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) the International Digital Laboratory (IDL)  and Warwick Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre (WIMRC) hosted the 7th International Conference on Manufacturing Research (ICMR 09).
 
The event took place on the 8th, 9th and 10th of September 2009 at the University of Warwick, Coventry, UK.
  
  
About ICMR 09
 
The key event in the COMEH calender, the International Conference on Manufacturing Research (ICMR) is an annual event.  For over two decades it has been the main manufacturing research conference organized within the UK, successfully bringing researchers, academics and industrialists together to share their knowledge and experiences.  Initiated as a National Conference by the Consortium of UK University Manufacturing and Engineering (COMEH) it became an International Conference in 2003.
 
Selected papers will be considered for publication in Special Issues of the following Journals:
 
The papers submitted to ICMR 09 will compete for the Best Paper Award.  Additionally, papers where a student is a primary author are eligible to compete for the Best Student Paper Award.   
  
  
About COMEH
 
The Consortium of UK University Manufacturing and Engineering (COMEH) is an independent body established in 1978.  Its main aim is to promote manufacturing engineering education, training and research.  To achieve this, the Consortium maintains a close liaison with government bodies concerned with the training and continuing development of professional engineers, while responding to appropriate consultative and discussion documents and other initiatives.  COMEH is represented on the Engineering Professor’s Council (EPC) and it organizes and supports national manufacturing engineering education research conferences and symposia.
  
  
About the Conference Venue

 
WMG is an internationally leading manufacturing group, headed by Professor Lord Kumar Bhattacharyya.  Its mission is to improve competitiveness through the application of innovation, new technologies and skills deployment, bringing academic rigour to industrial and organisational practice.  Part of the University of Warwick it has a high academic profile coupled with direct application across a broad range of sectors, from automotive, aerospace and pharmaceuticals, to finanical servies and healthcare.  It operates worldwide through research collaboration and collaborative centres in China, India, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
 
The International Digital Laboratory (IDL) is a new £50m state-of-the art capability to facilitate major collaborative research opportunities, create effective knowledge transfer between academia and users and generate new knowledge and skills.  It is home to multi-disciplinary collaborative research groups that combine WMG’s expertise with that of the underpinning sciences and application focused demonstrators.
