Transforming Capability

About us

Clive Reynolds

"To achieve business growth and success a workforce needs the capacity to continually learn, update their skills, and strengthen their knowledge."

Clive Reynolds

Transforming Capability is focused on the issues surrounding the evaluation, adoption, adaptation and embedding of enhanced technology, and the fostering of innovation, from both individual and organisational aspects.  New skills are required at all levels within both users of technology and learning providers to achieve demand-led practices yielding tangible, sustained business benefit.

    • The Transforming Capability team has developed a comprehensive toolset to address these issues, which has already enabled businesses to achieve or commit to some £25m of benefit through increased business and cost savings.
    • These tools operate within a framework of work-based learning, which is ensuring efficiency and effectiveness, and that the managers and workforce can acquire the means to keep skills improvement fully aligned to the context of their business.
    • Manufacturing and Engineering Service companies are using these tools for applications as diverse as:

               -   creating a shared vision as a foundation for technology transfer

               -   knowledge transfer in new product introduction

               -   enhanced soft skills in engineers to adapt to ‘stretch’ innovation targets

               -   training clusters of SMEs in operational improvement techniques in order
                   to optimise implementation.
    • Partnerships have been set up with a number of organisations, including the National Skills Academy for Manufacturing, to support widespread availability and deployment of the toolset.
