This module will introduce students to the evaluation "mind set"; familiarise them with the approaches used to carry out research and evaluation studies in digital healthcare; and equip them to design and carry out their own dissertation project and other studies in the field.

The module covers the following:

• What is evaluation, what broad approaches are used, what are the challenges ?
  
• How to plan an evaluation study including identifying the questions, turning them into objectives, selecting the right study design, designing the study, carrying out the study, analysing the results and presenting them to others.
  
• Research ethics and their implications for various study types.
