Nick PhillipsWMG Principal Teaching Fellow, Nick Phillips, has been highly commended in the prestigious Warwick Awards for Teaching Excellence (WATE) 2016.

The awards highlight the efforts all the teaching staff across the University of Warwick make to provide outstanding learning environments for students.

Nick is responsible for all accounting and finance teaching in WMG, from undergraduates and master’s students, to those on professional and executive programmes.

Nick explains: “Our students are always at the forefront of everything we do. Recognising students’ own experience is crucial and we always make the module content relevant, be it for the experienced factory manager or the new graduate.”

Nick was awarded £2,000 for his efforts that can now be used to further develop his teaching practices, access training opportunities, or purchase resources to support his modules.

Following the awards all winners and commendees have the opportunity to share their practice and experience with wider audiences across the University, through a range of follow up events and sessions over the course of the forthcoming academic year.
