Exploring UK and China initiatives at WMG

WMG was delighted to host a visit from Mark Wareing, Minister-Counsellor and Director for Advanced Manufacturing and Transport at UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), yesterday (Tuesday 26 July).

Mr Wareing met with Steve Raynor and Steve Fisher from WMG’s dedicated China Programmes Team, and colleagues from our Professional and Executive Programmes team to learn more about our world class education programmes. They were also joined by Professor Sujit Banerji and Dr Nick Mallinson to discuss UK and China initiatives.

Afterwards Mr Wareing had a tour of the Energy Innovation Centre and the International Manufacturing Centre Engineering Hall to see first-hand how academia and industry is working side-by-side on pioneering manufacturing projects.

After completing courses at WMG, some of the brightest and best Chinese students have gone on to lead some of the country's most influential institutions.

WMG’s relationship with China stretches back over 35 years. WMG has created a strong relationship with China through partnerships with government, universities, and leading manufacturers.
