BAE SYSTEMS and WMG sign Memorandum of Understanding for co-operative research and education

Professor Lord Kumar BhattacharyyaWMG welcomed a senior delegation from BAE Systems to the University of Warwick. Professor Lord Bhattacharyya, Chairman of WMG and Cliff Robson, Director Industrial Capability for BAE Systems’ air sector, signed a memorandum of understanding on behalf of BAE Systems (Operations) Ltd and WMG. The MOU seeks to enhance engagement between the two organisations to create an environment and culture for co-operative research and education on areas of common interest and mutual benefit.

WMG is world renowned for working with industry through its industrial education offerings and its high profile research projects. Professor Lord Bhattacharyya said ‘We are delighted to be able to more strongly engage with BAE SYSTEMS, develop a better understanding of their needs and collaborate in areas of mutual benefit. We also hope to facilitate collaboration across sectors including transfer of knowledge, best practice and multi-use technologies’.

BAE Systems, one of the UK’s largest manufacturing companies, must remain at the forefront of the industry if it is to continue to compete in the global market. Cliff Robson said ‘Working with industrially-aligned universities is important to help maintain and develop our capabilities and our people in particular. Consequently we are looking forward to developing this relationship with WMG.’
