Professor Lord Bhattacharyya, today, welcomed a delegation from DRB-HICOM to WMG.

The delegation were here to discuss industry collaborations, with DRB-HICOM being the largest automotive manufacturer in Malaysia, they are keen to explore the potential for collaborative partnerships. Included in the delegation was Lt Jen Dato’ Wira Allatif bin Mohd Noor the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM).

Meeting with Professor Lord Bhattacharyya they discussed WMG’s world renowned postgraduate education programmes as well as the collaborative cutting-edge research that the Group is leading on.

Professor Lord Bhattacharyya and Dato’ Sri Haji Mohd Khamil bin Jamil, DRB-HICOM Group Managing Director signed an NDA, which seeks to develop an industry to industry strategic collaboration across research and education both here in the UK and in Malaysia.

The delegation had a tour of WMG to see first-hand the applied research that is undertaken within the Group. They visited Product Evaluation Technologies, Experiential Engineering, Materials and Manufacturing R&D teams in the International Manufacturing Centre and the International Digital Laboratory. As well as viewing the Energy Storage and Management facilities. Whilst here they also visited Jaguar Land Rover.
