    Core Modules for MA Programmes

     

    Core modules in Term 1 for the MA programmes in the Centre for Applied Linguistics are:

    • ELT Methodology (for students with less than two years' teaching experience)

    or Issues and Research in ELT (for students with two years' or more teaching experience)

    • SLA and Classroom Language Learning 
    • Spoken English
    • Lexis and Grammar
    • Text and Discourse Analysis

    In addition, students begin to study:

    • Research Methodology

     

    In Term 2 students follow:

    • The relevant specialist modules for their degree (including Professional Practice)
    • (In most cases) one additional module, chosen according to interest
    • Research Methodology
