    2005 Archive Launch

The Warwick ELT Archive was officially opened on 7th May 2005 by A.P.R. Howatt, author of A History of English Language Teaching (Oxford University Press, 1984, 2nd ed. 2004 ). Prior to the opening ceremony, photographs of which appear below, he gave an invited lecture exploring the history of the Dakin Collection (now incorporated into the Warwick ELT Archive) and examining its wider significance for the study of the history of language teaching.
