RESEARCH PROFILEMy main research interests are in second language acquisition, computer-assisted language learning, especially in the area of CALL materials development, error analysis, corpus linguistics and written accuracy and the Chinese learner. |
BACKGROUNDI trained as an English language teacher and taught English in high schools in Taiwan for a couple of years. I then retrained as a computer scientist and worked as a freelance web designer. I joined the Centre for Applied Linguistics at Warwick as a Postgraduate Research Fellow in 2002, teaching on the MA programmes and conducting my doctoral research. After completing my PhD in ELT/Applied Linguistics in 2005, I worked on a series of CALL materials development projects (e.g. GrammarTalk, Academic English Zone and the LEAP: Learning English for Academic Purposes) . Currently, I am responsible for the maintenance of the centre website and also contribute to teaching on MA programmes and short courses. |
