EVALUATION OF LEARNING AND TEACHING STRATEGY

Researchers: Geoff Lindsay and Susan Band

Development of the Learning and Teaching Strategy has arisen as a result of the University’s successful bid, following an invitation from HEFCE, giving access to earmarked funding of £500,000 over three years, 1999-2002. Building on Warwick’s mission statement, the Strategy aims to bring together and extend existing operations as well as generating new initiatives in support of learning and teaching at all levels, and sets out clear targets for doing so.

CEDAR’s remit in evaluating the implementation of the Strategy was to focus on the development of undergraduate skills and research led teaching. The project was completed in July 2002 and involved interviews with a broad cross section of key participants at staff and student level as well as scrutiny of documentary evidence.
