LABOUR MARKET INTELLIGENCE FOR SHROPSHIRE AND STAFFORDSHIRE NHS WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT CONFEDERATION

Researchers: Sheila Galloway with Beate Baldauf, Robert Lindley, Robert Wilson (IER)

In the early part of the decade government initiatives put a stronger emphasis on national and local workforce development and planning to provide a modern and dependable National Health Service. This research for Shropshire and Staffordshire NHS Workforce Development Confederation provided an analysis of quantitative data on the workforce and labour market scenarios. In parallel with this information was gathered through occupational case studies of biomedical scientists, nurses and radiographers. The qualitative data were collected through group interviews, and CEDAR conducted the sessions with the latter two groups. This project completed in 2003.
