    Completed in 2005

EVALUATION OF THE KEY STAGE 2 LANGUAGE LEARNING PATHFINDERS

Directors: Daniel Muijs, Geoff Lindsay, Ann Barnes, Marilyn Hunt and Bob Powell

With: Elisabeth Arweck and Cynthia Martin

The DfES funded a 2 year evaluation of the Key Stage 2 Language Learning Pathfinders. 19 LEA's received funding to implement pilot projects introducing the teaching of foreign languages at Key Stage 2. The aim of the evaluation was to look at both the overall effectiveness of the project, and the comparative effectiveness of different delivery models with a view towards providing recommendations and best practice models for policymakers and practitioners. The evaluation was undertaken by CEDAR in collaboration with MFL specialists from the Institute of Education and the Language Centre at Warwick.
