ACTIVATING SENIOR POTENTIAL IN AGEING EUROPE

Sheila Galloway with the Institute for Employment Research: Prof. Robert Lindley, Beate Baldauf, Dr. Bernard Casey

The European Union’s Framework 7 programme funds this project under its Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities theme. Led by a team from the University of Utrecht, the project involves partners in Italy, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Poland and France and the UK. Warwick’s Institute for Employment Research is undertaking an analysis of government policy here on age management, and conducting a survey of companies about their strategies to manage employees’ development throughout the life cycle as well as pre-retirement. CEDAR is managing the component concerning older people’s contribution to civil society through the voluntary sector and Sheila Galloway will carry out the organisational case studies focusing on age management.
