Research Interests

  • intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) including autism spectrum disorders
  • developmental outcomes of children with an IDD -parenting and parental well-being in relation to physical and mental health
  • well-being and quality of life of adults with an IDD
  • quantitative methods, especially longitudinal analyses
  • systematic reviews and meta-analyses

Biography

Vaso has a background in Psychology and is a researcher in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities. She joined the University of Warwick in 2013, moving from a post as a Lecturer in Psychology and Research Tutor at the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme.

Currently, Vaso is an Associate Professor in a joint post with the Centre for Education Studies (CES) and the Centre for Educational Development, Appraisal and Research (CEDAR).

Vaso is a Chartered Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

She is currently an Associate Editor for the journal Research in Developmental Disabilities (2015- ) and an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Education: Special Educational Needs (2016- ).
