CES Research Seminar: Creative Coding

- Export as iCalendar

Dr Leucha Veneer, Outreach Fellow in the Department of Computer Science, will speak about her involvement in the Creative Coding Project.

Abstract: The Creative Coding project is an initiative of the education side of Warwick Arts Centre, with funding obtained from ArtsConnect West Midlands by Brian Bishop. The funding enables digital artist Ashley Brown to go into President Kennedy School for regular classes and help a group of Year 7 students to produce a digital art installation for their school over the course of the school year.

The project is ongoing, but in this paper I will give an overview of it, and also discuss how the students are responding to the project and what they are learning about maths and computer science, art and creativity, and how this would not be covered by the curriculum in the normal way.
