Jacqueline is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education Studies Department at the University of Warwick. Her research focuses on the analysis of the policy making process with particular reference to the education system in the UK. Her work aims to discern drivers and motivations in policy development and consider how these link to educational goals, both for the individual and the system as a whole. Jacqueline employs content analysis and critical policy analysis techniques to systematically analyse policy. More broadly she is interested in examining both recent and historical political and economic events in the UK to assess the impact of these forces on the UK education system. Jacqueline's PhD work considered New Labour's educational agenda and involved the analysis of policy and legislation, considering these documents against educational goals. Before joining the Department of Education Studies Jacqueline worked as a primary school teacher in several schools in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, holding various leadership positions alongside her classroom duties. At Warwick, Jacqueline teaches on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses and leads the MA in Education course.
