The Centre for Research in Ethnic Relations (CRER) ceased to exist on 30th September 2011. These pages record the activity of CRER and it's staff and provide a link to publications and ongoing activities. News and Events
CRER has been at the forefront of research into the experience of people from minority ethnic groups in the UK and Western Europe. Its research agenda included a focus on the processes of racial discrimination, issues of citizenship, political participation, cultural identity, refugees, ethnic mobilisation and nationalism. Considerable emphasis was placed on the dissemination of research findings, both to the academic community and the wider world. Through its teaching, training, conferences, seminars, workshops and publications, CRER aimed to promote a better knowledge and understanding of the processes which impact upon ethnic minorities. The Centre was committed to the promotion of equal opportunities and social justice, and to challenging all forms of racism and discrimination. |
