    Dr. Michela Redoano

Michela's main research interests are in the areas of Political Economy, International Tax Competition, Fiscal Federalism and Lobbying.

Michela holds a B.Sc and a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Genoa (Italy) and a M.Sc and a Ph.D in Economics from the University of Warwick. Before joining CSGR she was working as a Research Fellow for the Centre for Public Economics at the University of Warwick on an ESRC project on Tax and Amenity Competition.

At the CSGR she is currently engaged in three projects.

The first one concerns the construction of a "Globalisation Index" for a wide group of countries and for several years, this index takes into account several dimensions of globalisation (i.e. economic, political, social).

The second one studies the relationship between lobby formation and globalisation. The focus is on two types of lobbies: the "anti-global" protestors, on one side, warning citizens against the "dangers" of globalisation and the "pro globalisations" lobbies trying to push for more market freedom through governments, on the other side.

Finally, the third project analyses whether or not the decision to invest in a developing country is related to the characteristics of its tax system and how the benefits from foreign investments are distributed.
