Economics Alumni
The department is proud of its alumni and we are eager to hear about your achievements. Please send your news to the department's alumni officer Professor Mark Harrison or the head of department Professor Abhinay Muthoo.
Thank You!
We deeply appreciate your help. In recent years the department has put major efforts into upgrading the academic standards of its PhD programme. Our aim is to attract the very best students from across the world and to prepare them for academic and research positions at the very highest international level. We wish to recruit such students without regard to their ability to pay, as do the institutions that we aspire to emulate in North America and elsewhere. To supplement the department's own resources, which are necessarily limited, we have set up an Alumni PhD Scholarship Fund that will help support our PhD students through their studies. The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships and bursaries for PhD students in the Department of Economics. Students who do not have full external funding are eligible, and funds are allocated on the twin principles of academic merit and need. In 2008/09 one PhD student was fully funded as an Alumni Scholar, and one was partially supported by an Alumni Bursary. We are deeply grateful to the alumni for their support. Your help is moving us step by step towards to our goal.
