About the Play

Antony and Cleopatra is a tragedy by William Shakespeare. It was performed first around 1607 at the Blackfriars Theatre or the Globe Theatre. Its first appearance in print was in the Folio of 1623.

The Plot

Antony and Cleopatra is one of Shakespeare’s great historical love stories. Antony is captivated by Cleopatra, Queen of Egypt. Gossip and scandal leads to plots of murder and battles. Read more about the play from the RSC website.

The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC)

The RSC is a major British theatre company, based in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. The company employs over 1000 staff and produces around 20 productions a year from its home in Stratford-upon-Avon and plays regularly in London, Newcastle upon Tyne and on tour across the UK and internationally.
