About:

The Indian economy has grown at an impressive pace of late, and it can do even better if India receives more foreign direct investment and world-class skills. However, nationalistic sentiment is hindering its ability to open up the economy further.

Dr Roy’s new briefing paper explores the evolution of India’s anti-globalisation sentiment throughout its economic history. He proposes that its economy can grow faster if India frees itself of this sentiment and creates the conditions to attract more capital and more skills.

At this event, Dr Roy and Seema Malhotra MP will discussed the report’s key findings. The session included an audience Q&A.
