Classical Languages for Economists

The concepts on which economics relies owe much to the classical languages of Arabic, Greek, and Latin. Rudyard Kipling asked "What should they know of England who only England know?" The same applies to the English language. To use it effectively requires some knowledge of its roots, and this is as true for economics as it is for any other purpose.
