    First visit to China

On my first visit to China, my hosts took me on a trip through the Three Gorges. The Gorges were truly spectacluar, but we were not fortunate with the weather. Here is one of the photos.

We went for a walk in the countryside along the river. My hosts insisted that I be in almost all the photos; it was impossible to avoid.

The damming of the Three Gorges was already in progress.

Lectures by visitors to the Wuhan Military College are accompanied by much ceremony. My interpreter, Alan Wong, on the LH side, spoke incredibly good English and was very gracious and kind.
