    RESEARCH PROFILE


    Apprenticeship; vocational education and training; returns to education; returns to training; returns to skills; labour productivity; inequality; effects of health on labour market outcomes; analysis of large panel data sets; microeconometrics


    BACKGROUND


    Lynn joined the Institute for Employment Research in November 2006. Prior to this she was a Research Associate in the Department of Economics at the University Sheffield. Lynn received a PhD in Economics from the University of York in July 2006. Prior to studying in the UK, Lynn obtained her BSc and MA in Economics at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. Lynn is involved in a programme of research looking at various aspects of Apprenticeships, training and skills. She has contributed to the IER Net Costs of Training Series, Skills in England (for the former Learning and Skills Council) and the Options Study for the Long Term Evaluation of Apprenticeship (commissioned by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills). Lynn also collaborates with external research partners (UK and the rest of Europe) on research into vocational education and training.
