RESEARCH PROFILEIlias' research interests are in the area of labour economics and economics of education. Ilias has developed an expertise in the area of anticipating future skill needs and he is particularly interested in the labour market prospects of graduates of different fields across Europe. |
BACKGROUNDIlias holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Piraeus (Greece), an MA in Industrial Relations from Warwick Business School, and a PhD in economics from the University of Warwick. Prior to his appointment in IER in 2006 Ilias had been involved in various research and teaching activities in Greece. In 2002-2003, Ilias was employed in the Greek Parliament as a researcher appointed to an MP. Ilias has also worked for the Research Centre of the University of Piraeus, the Greek Centre of Educational Research, and the Labour Institute of the Greek General Confederation of Labour (INE-GSEE), and he has taught at the Department of Economics of the University of Piraeus. |
