Skills and knowledge for sustainable communities: initiatives coordination

Anne Green was a member of the co-ordinating team on this ESRC-funded initiative, led by Dr Robert Rogerson with Sue Sadler at the University of Strathclyde and including Professor Cecilia Wong from the University of Manchester. The overall aim of the initiative was to support independent, high quality research and link new thinking, ideas and knowledge to the development of skills and practice in the sustainable communities field. The focus was on enhancing the skills and knowledge that are needed to create and maintain better places, now and in the future. The co-ordinating team drew out connections between the academic lessons from case studies commissioned by the ESRC in partnership with HCA Academy and the wider policy context on building sustainable communities.
