Public Lecture - Mohammed Zaman QC 'Judicial Bias and misconduct'
His lecture ‘Judicial bias and misconduct: what happens when judges will not listen, make inappropriate comments or fall asleep’ will review the development of judicial oversight and control of judges; the concept of ‘a real danger of bias’; the circumstances in which a party can waive an entitlement to have a judge disqualified; and the application in practice of the requirement that a judge should act judicially.
Mohammed Zaman LLB (Warwick 1984) was called to be the Bar in 1985 and appointed as Queen’s Counsel in 2009. He a member of No5 Chambers, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and admitted as an advocate in the Dubai International Finance Centre (DIFC) Court. He has a wide ranging commercial litigation and international arbitration practice with an emphasis on civil fraud, company, insolvency and regulatory matters.
Mohammed has regularly been listed in Chambers and Partners UK Guide to the Bar as a (Band 1) leading silk in commercial dispute resolution.
