CJC Seminar - Challenging Transitional Justice: the Case of Colombia
'The peace process in Colombia continues against a backdrop of continuing violence and dispute between the parties, and without a clear sense of how things will ultimately be resolved. In this process of 'transitional justice', there are many questions as to what the transition is about, where it will end, and what role law plays within it. More general questions about the function, form, promise and possibilities of transitional justice are also raised. This panel aims to discuss various aspects of the peace process in the context of an understanding of the nature of criminal justice in a transitional setting'
Gustavo Rojas Paez (Universidad Libre, Bogota)
'Prosecuting Capitalism: Colombia and Crimes of the Powerful'
Lara Montesinos Coleman (Sussex) and Owen Thomas (Exeter)
'Working Through to the (Colombian) Polis: Transitional Justice as Psychoanalytical Method'
Alan Norrie (Warwick)
