We are excited to announce the introduction in September 2007 of an LLM in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation. This LLM places Warwick Law School at the forefront of corporate legal education in the UK. Building upon the success of the Law School's existing LLM programmes, the LLM in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation adopts a comparative perspective on corporate law and governance to look at the different ways in which different jurisdictions respond to similar economic and social pressures.

The LLM in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation has been designed with four objectives in mind:

• To provide students with an understanding of the interaction between the process of globalization and general principles of corporate governance and financial regulation;
  
• To offer in depth coverage of the main topics in corporate governance and financial law and regulation, including compliance dimensions;
  
• To provide practical skills on negotiating, drafting and structuring transactions;
  
• To ensure that students have an understanding of the economic and social context in which commercial decisions are made and corporate governance and financial regulation operate.

Students taking the LLM in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation will be required to complete the Core Course, which runs in the Winter Term, five optional modules and a 10,000 word dissertation. 

We believe that this new programme in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation offers an exciting and unique opportunity for students to undertake in depth comparative and contextual study of the regulation of the company.
