This meeting is part of a series of events organised by UCU branches in collaboration with Egypt Solidarity initiative in support of Amnesty International’s Truth for Giulio campaign, which aims to uncover the truth about the disappearance, torture and murder of Cambridge PhD student Giulio Regeni in Cairo last year.

Amnesty’s research shows that hundreds of Egyptians have also disappeared in recent years, and the marks of torture on Giulio’s body resemble methods used by the Egyptian security forces.
