The British International Studies Association is an independent academic organisation which promotes the study of International Relations and related subjects through teaching, research and the facilitation of contact between scholars. It is the professional organisation for academics and practitioners of International Relations in the United Kingdom. I was honoured to serve as the Chair of the new BISA Postgraduate Network (PGN), a position I held from April 2010 until April 2011. Previous to this I served in a similar role as BISA Postgraduate Representative from December 2007 until April 2010. My primary responsibility was to co-ordinate the activities of the network ensuring, amongst other things, that the view of BISA's postgraduate members are clearly heard by the association's officers and keeping all postgraduates up-to-date on relevant association decisions. As part of this role I was co-opted on to the executive committee of the association. I currently serve as the President of the PGN, a position I will hold until April 2012. Further information can be found at our website:www.bisa-pgn.org.uk I welcome questions, comments and/or suggestions relating to my role.
