Churchill: The World Crisis

The first individual to take advantage of the new 'vindicator' principle was Winston Churchill, who published six volumes of self-justifying reminiscences, entitled The World Crisis, between 1923 and 1931. For this, he made money; by January 1921, before a single copy had been sold, he had contracts worth over £27,000 with London's leading literary agent, Curtis Brown.
