Please note that due to circumstances beyond our control the PhD Studentships application deadline has had to be brought forward by one week, to Friday 26 February 2010.
PAIS is delighted to be able to offer a range of PhD studentships for 2010. A single application form allows you to apply for as many of the different categories of studentship as you wish (subject to eligibility).

ESRC awards
The Department has two ESRC awards to distribute under the latter's Quota Allocation Scheme. Only EU citizens are eligible to apply. The award covers the cost of tuition fees - and for UK citizens only also includes a maintenance grant of £12,000 (see the ESRC guidance notes ).
If you expect to have completed an undergraduate degree by September 2010 you can apply for a 1+3 award. If you expect to have completed an RT-recognised Master's by the same time you can apply for a +3 award. (Students with a non-RT-recognised Master's must apply for the 1+3 route.)
Please note that you cannot nominate yourself to the ESRC for an award directly; you must proceed through PAIS's Departmental Awards Committee and wait to hear from us.
