Richard Higgott

richard.jpgRichard Higgott is Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research and Professor of International Political Economy   at the University of Warwick. He was Foundation Director of the ESRC Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation at the University of Warwick. He is also Senior Scientist and   Director of the EU Framework 6 Network of Excellence on Global Governance, Regionalisation and Regulation and a Senior Fellow in the Institute of Governance and Public Management in the Warwick Business School. He received an MSc in Political Science from the LSE, and a PhD in Political Science   and African Studies from the University of Birmingham. He joined  the Department in 1996, after   holding Professorial-level posts at the University of Manchester and  the Australian National University. 

He has particular expertise in the international economics and politics of East Asia and the   international economic institutions, especially the WTO. In 2007, he directed the first Warwick Commission 'The Multilateral Trade Regime: Which Way Forward?'
