The Joint Session is a three-day conference in philosophy that is held annually during the summer by the Aristotelian Society and the Mind Association. It has taken place at nearly every major university across the United Kingdom and in Ireland. Since 1910, the Joint Session has grown to become the largest gathering of philosophers in the country, attracting prestigious UK and international speakers working in a broad range of philosophical areas.

The 89th Joint Session of the Aristotelian Society and the Mind Association will be held at the University of Warwick from 10 to 12 July 2015. All enquiries should be sent to jointsession@warwick.ac.uk

GETTING TO THE CONFERENCE

The University of Warwick is on the southern outskirts of Coventry. The best way to get to the campus on public transport is to take a train to Coventry station (there are frequent services from London Euston, also from Birmingham International (the station for Birmingham Airport)) and then to take a bus (follow the signs from the station to Warwick Road (a 2 minute walk) and from there catch the 12/12A or U1 to the university; get off at the Library Road bus stop). A taxi from Coventry station to the university costs approximately £11.00.

For detailed information about transport to the university, please click here.

For a campus map (highlighting the places of interest to you) please click here.

Car parking: Complimentary car parking is available for conference delegates in the allocated car parks on campus (7, 8, 8a, 9, 10 and 15). Please ensure you have printed your parking permit before arriving on campus and display this in your windscreen before leaving your vehicle.
The parking permit can be downloaded here. (If you are staying until Monday, please also print out the permit that's available here.)

The registration desk (open from 12 noon on the Friday) is in the Science Concourse (in the Sciences Building — number 9 on the map), just across the bridge from the library. The plenary sessions, the postgraduate sessions and some of the open sessions will be held in this building. The rest of the open sessions will be in Social Sciences (across Library Road, number 61 on the map).
A good way to reach the Sciences building is to follow signs for the library, then once you are in front of the library go up to the bridge across Library Road, cross the bridge, and enter the door to the Science Concourse.

To check in for accommodation you need to go to Conference Reception in the Students Union building (number 63 on the map). Keys are available from 3pm. If you'd like to get rid of your luggage you can leave it either at Conference Reception or at the registration desk (in the Science Concourse). If you arrive after 22.45, please write to Conference Reception to arrange late key collection (wcpreception@warwick.ac.uk).
