I am currently a PhD student in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Warwick. I began this research in 2002.

About Me

After completing a BA in Philosophy at Sussex University and an MA in Continental Philosophy at Warwick University, I began work on my PhD thesis in 2002. From October 2003 to July 2004 I pursued my research at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service.  In October 2004 I resumed my research at Warwick and have recently joined the editorial board of the graduate journal 'Pli'. 

About My Research

Research topic/interests:

The current title of my thesis is The Poverty of Environmentalism: Heidegger, Living Nature and Ecology. The thesis focuses on Heidegger's conception of animality and the role that this conception has to  play in the development of ecological phenomenology.

My research interests include German Idealism and Romanticism, Environmental Philosophy, 20th Century German and French Phenomenology, Philosophy and Literature.

Current Teaching Responsibilities:

I am currently teaching assistant for Ethics and  History of Modern Philosophy.
