Marjorie Gracieuse
I received a French 'Maitrise' in Philosophy from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (2003) and an English MA in Continental Philosophy at the University of Warwick (2007), for which I obtained a one-year full award from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. I then studied under the supervision of Professor Miguel Beistegui and completed my PhD on ‘Deleuze and the Crowned Anarchy of Desire’ in January 2011. I was a teaching assistant for Ancient Philosophy and Plato’s Symposium courses at the University of Warwick and I have spoken at conferences in Switzerland, Italy and the UK.
I used to be the facilitator of the European Network in Contemporary French Philosophy funded by the Leverhulme Trust (2007-2010) and co-organised six workshops in the UK, France, and Italy.
I have translated articles from French into English for François Laruelle, Miguel de Beistegui and Didier Debaise.
I also co-organised and acted as a ‘questions and answers’ interpreter during François Laruelle’s conference at the University of Warwick and at the University of Nottingham in March 2010. I am the co-editor of two special issues of Pli, The Warwick Journal of Philosophy on ‘Deleuze and Simondon’ and ‘Michel Foucault’, to be published in 2012.
I am also acting as a learning mentor for students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and have been working in close collaboration with Warwick Disability Services since 2007.
I am now a research fellow at the University of Warwick, working with Prof. Beistegui, Dr Bianco, Dr Stein and Prof. Fulford on the CIBB project, a three-year research project funded by the Leverhulme Trust.
