    Postgraduate Degree Programmes Overview

    Overview

    The influential Leiter report lists Warwick Philosophy in the top groupings in six areas: epistemology; philosophy of art; philosophy of mind; political philosophy; 19th century continental philosophy; 20th century continental philosophy. In each area, Warwick is one of the top 3 UK departments for that specialism. Overall, Warwick Philosophy comes 9th in the UK and in the top 50 internationally.

    Members of academic staff have an especially wide range of research interests, but we have particular strengths in: philosophy of mind; 19th century continental philosophy; 20th century continental philosophy; epistemology; Kant; philosophy of psychology, including linguistics; philosophy of literature; metaphysics; aesthetics; political philosophy; ethics; philosophy of perception; philosophy of logic; philosophy of language.

    Taught + Research

    A Taught/Research degree for students who hope ultimately to become professional philosophers. Candidates research three philosophical topics and produce a thesis of around 30,000 words. Successful candidates will be eligible to apply for a PhD programme 2 years 3 years Naomi Eilan
    MA in Continental Philosophy Taught Taught masters degree for students who wish to study philosophy at an advanced level. Candidates follow a number of dedicated modules and may produce a dissertation of around 10,000 words.     MA in Philosophy and Literature Taught Taught masters degree for students who wish to study philosophy at an advanced level.     MA in Philosophy of Mind- To be discontinued from 2012/13 onwards Taught Taught masters degree for students who wish to study philosophy at an advanced level.
